Part 1
1/ The music industry is not in good shape due to piracy.
2/The global music sales in 2009 fell by 7%.
3/ The physical and digital sales haven't followed the samed curve: The physical one has fallen and the digital one has increased.
4/ The total sales drop and the total digitals rise because people prefers downloaded music than buy it.
5/ In the US legal downloading represents 878 million of dollars in 2006 and in France it represents 3,7 billion of dollars in 2008. As people buy more and more music on the internet, there won't be physical record.

Questions:
1)The consequence is that there is an important loss of money. When you download illegaly,money does'nt go to the label and the artist. Even when you buy a music, you're not obliged to buy the whole CD and money does'nt go to the label too. That's the main problem which the music industry has to face.
2)The different stages to promote music are: identify your goals-target the right audience- have a promo package- find a niche and the right one- bribe- branding-keep tracks of your contacts...
4)In France there are Grégoire,Kamini or Amandine du 38^^ who use internet to become known.
5)Yes I ever downloaded musics illegaly. Iused LimeWire or Emule when it was working.

2. The global sales in 2009 felt by 7%.
3. Not at all. Physical sales decreased whereas digital sales raised.
4. The total sales drop because people prefer downloading music instead of buy it. It costs less.
5. In 2006, in the United States legal downloading represented 878 millions dollars whereas in France it was 3,7 billion dollars. It will be worth in the future.

Part 1:

3. No, they haven’t followed the same curse, physical sales have decreased and digital sales have increased.
4. I think that people prefer to buy their music on the internet because it’s less expensive and easier or to download it illegally without paying anything.
5. In 2006, in the US, the digital sales represented 878 million dollars and in 2008 in France it was 3,7 billion dollars. I think that as time will go there will be less and less physical sales.

6. I think that Vevo and the agreement between Youtube and the Sacem in France can help artists to get pay for their song.
7. The music industry is trying to increase legal music downloading prices.
8. I think that the legal downloading offer should be cheaper and with music that can be used on any kind of mp3 and that you should be able to share the music with your family like with a CD.
